Fees and accommodation payment reminder - 31 January 2026

A quick reminder that if you pay your own tuition fees or accommodation costs, a payment instalment is due at the end of this month. The easiest way to pay is via the ‘My Finance’ section in e:vision. If you have set up a direct debit, this will be automatically taken around the due date. REMEMBER: We will never contact you and ask for your card details over the phone for payments. See our 7 tips for spotting a scam.

Problems with tech?

Stop by our friendly IT drop-in sessions running Monday - Friday in the JB Morrell Library. If you can't make it to the Library, there's lots of IT how-to guides and help available on our website.

Electives deadline this week

Interested in studying beyond your department? Apply for elective modules before this Friday 16 January.

1. Study tip: Time and place

When, and where, do you work best? Are you a morning person, or do you feel more productive in the afternoon? Do you prefer the buzz of a busy coffee shop, or complete silence in the Burton Library to focus? Whatever your preference, there are a range of different study spaces on campus - including our dedicated Family Study Room, Sensory Rooms, and Study Double spaces for body doubling.

And don’t forget: the Library is open 24/7 during the common assessment period to support your studies.

2.  Study tip: Take a break

Suggesting you step away from your desk might sound like unusual study advice, but plotting in regular breaks to relax can help to reduce stress and renew your focus. Searching for some inspiration? Stop by the Creativity Lab for a range of fun skill workshops and crafting activities, including an official ‘Take a Break’ Lego building challenge on Wednesday (14 January).

Prefer somewhere calmer to unwind? Our quiet spaces across campus offer a range of wellbeing rooms, sensory retreat rooms and even a quiet gym to explore.

See all of our 7 tips for study and exam success.

3. Influence the future of graduate recruitment – win £2,000!

Want a free personal career profile to show you jobs that might suit you and tips to help with your graduate career search? Complete the Cibyl survey to influence the future of graduate employment, tell universities and employers what you need to succeed and get a free career personality report. Plus, complete the survey by Friday 16 January and you could be in with the chance of winning a £2,000 gift card and other prizes.
