Meningitis: know the symptoms

In a close-knit community like a university, we must all be vigilant to prevent infectious diseases from spreading. Make sure you're registered with a doctor and be aware of symptoms of infectious illnesses such as meningitis.

Show your support for Radio 1’s The Longest Ride

As part of his 1000km journey across the UK to raise money for Red Nose Day, Radio 1 DJ and Long Boi superfan, Greg James, will be returning to campus tomorrow (17 March). York SU are organising a quacking crowd of supporters to cheer him on - and they need your help. Register now for a free ticket to secure your spot and enjoy a front row view of the live radio broadcast accompanying his arrival. 

Protect your bike

Join Campus Safety on Friday (20 March) for a free BikeRegister event in partnership with North Yorkshire Police and York Cycle Campaign. Mark and register your bike onto the National Cycle Database, receive free cycle safety and crime prevention advice and protect your bike against future theft. 

Central Car Park disruption

A number of  bays in Central Car Park will be unavailable on Tuesday (17 March) through to lunchtime on Wednesday (18 March).

Our EDI Research Centre is launching an Equity in postgraduate study project and invites students from underrepresented backgrounds to find out more about what it’s really like to study a Masters or PhD. Want to know where to focus your energies to move from good to even better in your academic work? Come to our How to get a First workshop on Monday (23 March) to find out what markers might look for in your work in order to award that top grade.

4. Finalists: add a Year in Enterprise

Finalists - you have the option of adding a Year in Enterprise to your degree! Get academic credit and a package of support for having a go at starting your own business. It's an opportunity to innovate, to broaden your experience and develop your business skills. Application deadline: Monday 20 April.

Applications to join the 2026/27 College STYC and STYM teams are now open to undergraduates moving into their second, third or fourth year of studies in September.
