You may have heard that we’ve made an exciting announcement about plans to open a new campus in Mumbai, India. Set to welcome its first undergraduate and postgraduate students for the academic year 2026/27, you can read the news story about this new venture, and we will keep everyone updated about opportunities for our students in the future.

The theme for Deaf Awareness Week 2025 is ‘Beyond silence’ focusing on breaking down barriers to full accessibility and celebrating Deaf culture.

1. Effective revision and managing exam stress
|
Worried about upcoming exams? You’re not alone. Come to our online Effective revision and managing exam stress and anxiety workshop on Thursday (8 May) to discover strategies and skills that will work for you. We cover revision hints and tips, exam technique, useful resources and time management. We’ll also share tips and techniques for managing stress and anxiety in the lead up to exams and on exam day itself.

2. Come to the Grad Jobs Fair
|
If you’re looking for your first graduate job, come along to the Grad Jobs Fair tomorrow (7 May) and meet up to 30 employers. It’s also a chance to get your CV reviewed, snap up some smart interview clothes with the Work Wardrobe, get a free professional photo for your LinkedIn profile, and chat about your options with the Careers and Placements team.

3. York Festival of Ideas 2025: tickets now available
|
Tickets are now available for York Festival of Ideas (31 May-13 June), featuring over 200 mostly free events, including talks by world-class speakers, walking tours, performances, workshops and more. Events include:

4. Volunteer at York Festival of Ideas
|
Want to get involved with the York Festival of Ideas? Soapbox Science, an event promoting women and non-binary role models in science, takes place on 7 June. They are looking for volunteers to encourage audience participation in the event and also to collect data about engagement and impact. Register to take part in Soapbox Science.

5. Rollout of new Google features
|
New Google features are now available for all University accounts. They include the ability to co-present and see speaker notes on Google Slides, the new Google Vids feature and improvements to Google Meet. These new features will be rolled out automatically, you don’t need to do anything.
