UoY community update

Fee payment reminder - 30 April 2026

A quick reminder that if you pay your own tuition fees or campus accommodation costs, a payment instalment is due at the end of this month. The easiest way to pay is via the ‘My Finance’ section in e:vision. If you have set up a direct debit, this will be automatically taken around 30 April. REMEMBER: We will never contact you and ask for your card details over the phone for payments. See our 7 tips for spotting a scam.

Access It All money advice drop-in

Our next Access It All money advice session for disabled and neurodivergent undergraduates is in David Kato College on Wednesday (22 April). Drop in any time during the session and our friendly staff will meet you at the registration desk and signpost you to specialist advisers who can help you with managing your money, Personal Independence Payments, Disabled Students Allowance and more.

York SU Excellence Awards

Know a staff member who’s made a difference to your degree journey? Nominate them for a York SU Excellence Award to show your appreciation. Submit your award nominations by 27 April.

Be a good neighbour - parking in Heslington

Problems with parking in our neighbouring area of Heslington have resulted in a number of complaints to the University recently: specifically with parking on verges and obstructing the route around The Outgang. If you drive to or around campus, please consider whether you may be causing inconvenience or disruption to our local community.

1. How to give useful feedback on your modules

You may be asked this week to evaluate your current modules but do you know how to give the most useful feedback? In order to help your academic department, your feedback needs to be courteous, honest, and specific, including clear examples.
