Changes to tuition fees for UK (home) students

Last year the UK government announced plans to increase the tuition fee rate for UK undergraduate students each year in line with inflation, from 2026 onwards. They have now set out fees for the 2026/27 academic year which will apply to University of York students enrolled in September 2026. See our fees pages for more information.

Fee payment reminder - 30 April 2026

A quick reminder that if you pay your own tuition fees or campus accommodation costs, a payment instalment is due at the end of this month. The easiest way to pay is via the ‘My Finance’ section in e:vision. If you have set up a direct debit, this will be automatically taken around 30 April. Remember: We will never contact you and ask for your card details over the phone for payments. See our 7 tips for spotting a scam.

Reading list and accessible reading drop-in

Questions about your reading list? Looking for digital tools to support your reading? Come to our drop-in session in the Library foyer 10am -1pm on Thursday (30 April) for tips and advice for getting the most from your reading lists.

Roses are white!

Good luck to all those taking part in Roses at Lancaster this weekend. We all know that #RosesAreWhite! Keep up to date with the scores.

1. Renting changes from 1 May

A new law called the Renters’ Rights Act comes into force on 1 May 2026. It changes how private renting works in England and gives you stronger rights as a tenant. These changes may affect how you find housing, sign your contract and plan your tenancy. If you’re already renting when the law comes in, most of these protections will still apply to you.

Drop-in session on Friday

Come and see us in the Library foyer (just beyond the turnstiles) between 12pm and 2pm on Friday (1 May). We’ll explain the new rules and answer your questions. No booking needed - just turn up. Find out more about the changes to renting.
