UoY community update

Tuition fee instalment - 31 October 2025

A quick reminder that if you pay your own tuition fees or accommodation costs, a payment instalment is due at the end of this month. The easiest way to pay is via the ‘My Finance’ section in e:vision. If you have set up a direct debit, this will be automatically taken around the due date. REMEMBER: We will never contact you and ask for your card details over the phone for payments. See our 7 tips for spotting a scam.

ADHD Awareness drop-in

As part of ADHD Awareness Month, the Student Support Team will be holding a stall in the Library foyer tomorrow (Tuesday 21 October) 12.30-2.30pm to share a range of resources, groups and support options available for students with ADHD and answer any questions you may have.

1. Looking ahead to Consolidation Week: the new Skills Hub

It’s Consolidation Week next week - a time to pause and take a break, catch up, reflect on your learning and plan your next steps. Find out about our new Skills Hub to learn about the different skills you develop whilst at university and read our suggestions for things you could do to make the most of Consolidation Week 2025.

2. Private sector housing problems?

You can discuss any issues you might be having living in private sector accommodation at our regular housing advice events. We offer contract checking as well as advice drop-ins with our specialist Student Housing Adviser and volunteer Law students at the Baroness Hale Law School Clinic. We can help you understand your rights and responsibilities as a tenant.

3. Find your calm: discover our sensory and quiet spaces

We’ve teamed up with students to bring to you a set of web pages to help you find and book quiet and sensory spaces on campus. Designed not only for quiet study but for self-regulation and decompressing, and ranging from Sensory Retreat Rooms and Wellbeing rooms to Zoom pods and Outdoor Sensory Spaces, find the perfect spot for you.

4. Feel confident with cybersecurity

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month - a chance to understand more about online threats and how to protect yourself. We’ve broken down some simple steps you can take today to stay safe online - from securing your personal information, to learning how to spot phishing attempts, all the way to understanding why setting up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is the ultimate security for all your accounts.
