Tonight: Vice-Chancellor reception for all
|
All postgraduate researchers (PGRs), whether new or existing students, are very welcome to join the Vice-Chancellor's welcome reception this evening from 5pm.
Join us for refreshments and a warm welcome to the new academic year from the Vice-Chancellor, Charlie Jeffrey. Representatives from the Students' Union and the colleges will also be there to tell you about opportunities, facilities, and support available.

New PGRs: Book your place at induction
|
The York Graduate Research School induction event provides essential information and practical advice about starting your research programme, plus an opportunity to meet other new researchers from across the University.
If you're studying for a PhD, MPhil or Masters by Research, come along to find out all you need to know. The event will be followed by refreshments and networking.

Following the induction and networking event, new postgraduate researchers are invited to our traditional wine and cheese meet and greet from 4.30pm in B/T/005.

New PGRs: Introductory skills workshops
|
This year, we’re extending induction with a series of introductory skills workshops, taking place from 7 October. Run by the BRIC Team, who coordinate a range of skills training for researchers at York, these sessions are a fantastic opportunity to experience the range of professional development available and further develop your skills.

All PGRs: Researcher development programme 2024/25
|
Whether you’re at the start of your research journey, or nearing the end of your research degree, we’re very happy to announce the launch of our Researcher Development Programme for 2024/25!
The programme contains a variety of online, in-person and on-demand professional development to ensure everyone - including distance learners and those with caring responsibilities - can access professional development that supports you, your research, and your career.
Sessions start from 7 October and run through until June 2025. Bookings are now open on all workshops!
